ASCOB-Syrtis is organizing, in collaboration with SPA/RAC, the "BIODIV 2017" Conference on Biodiversity from 28 to 30 October. Registration are still open.

The Association for the Conservation of Biodiversity in the Gulf of Gabes (ASCOB-Syrtis) is organizing the Second Mediterranean Conference "Biodiv 2017" in collaboration with the Specially Protected Areas Regional Activity Center (SPA/RAC).

The theme of this conference is « Biodiversity: Guidelines for Research and Conservation Tools ». The event will take place in Monastir (Tunisia) from 28 to 30 October 2017.

The conference will include oral and poster presentations, as well as introductory lectures for various themes.

The main themes of the conference are:

• Status and management of biological resources
• Biodiversity and climate change
• Invasive Species
• Protected areas and conservation
• Monitoring of biodiversity (DNA banking, modeling, data collection and management ...)
• Biodiversity in oases
• Aquaculture and Biodiversity
• Pollution and toxicology (The submission of work on plastic pollution is encouraged: ingestion of plastic debris by marine fauna and its entanglement in waste)

Side events:

• Training on Biblio-manager with certificate issued after the training (20 DT)
• Exhibition « History of salt and birds » (by the Tunisian Association amis des oiseaux)
